Book Club and My apologies

Hello my lovelies! Hope you are doing well. My apologies on this book club. Not only am I posting late but I am actually going to let you all express how you feel on this book without me asking any questions. I have just had SO much going on this month you wouldn't believe. I hope to be able to share with you all next week with what has been going on but until then I hope you all have a wonderful weekend and I will see you on Monday.... me and guitar hero are heading on a much needed vacation tomorrow.

I have some exciting news everyone. I have been teaming up with sweet Carrie over from [carrotspeak] on making a special blog just for the book club. So, starting Oct. 1st we will be doing the book club on blog called page turners even if you don't want to join the book club I highly recommend checking it out. Carrie did such a wonderful job putting it together. We already have the first book picked at for Oct... and let me tell you it's perfect for Halloween time. Also, there is a poll where you can vote ahead for books to read in the following months. So, if you don't want to read the book this month maybe the next months book will strike your fancy.

Also, check out Carrie's blog... if you like mine at all you will love hers. She is engaged to a solider who just left for Germany yesterday so, I guess you can say we have a lot in common when it comes to being left behind.

And for those of you who are waiting to chat about eat, pray, love we will be doing it tomorrow on this blog still...

When you're away...

I wear your shirts around the house

I sleep on your side of the bed

I cuddle with the pillow

I leave the t.v. and lights on all night

I eat in the bed

I hardly ever put on makeup

and I never stop thinking about you

On a happy note though I don't have to worry about any of those things

for two weeks. Because for a whole two weeks...

I will wear my own cute shirts around the house for you

I will sleep in the middle of the bed next to you

I will cuddle with you

I will fall asleep to the t.v. and the lights on but I know you will turn them off afterwards

we will eat together at nice places

I will put on makeup to look pretty for you (even though you never think I need it)

and instead of thinking of you... I will be seeing you!!!

It's going to be a wonderful two weeks!!!

barcelona inspiration

I finally watched Vicky, Cristina, Barcelona last night

and might I just say... breathtaking!

The locations in the movie, the talk of art, and music

just all of it was so beautiful and left me wanting more.

After watching the movie I could not stop thinking about hopping on a plane

and visiting the beautiful towns that European villages have to offer.

I love how everyone over there seems so artistic

(at least in the movie they did)

I now not only want to learn to play the piano (which I keep asking guitar hero to teach me... when we actually buy a piano that is)

but I also want to learn how to paint (again), write poetry, work with clay, and most of all

learn to take stunning photographs with old vintage cameras

and even better if I could learn how to develop film in my own dark room.

I think my goal this weekend will be to take lots of photos of anything and everything!

1. I prefer flat coke then fresh coke
2. I am not a shoe fan... I much rather be bare foot then anything
3. My dream job would be playing a Disney princess at Disney world
4. I like pizza in the morning
5. I am huge Dolly Parton fan... in fact she was one of the best concerts I ever went to.
6. I do not like any shows to do with crime, even the news. I am such a paranoid person when it comes to that stuff.
7. I have two tattoos one of my hip and one on my upper back.
8. My mom is my best friend! We talk everyday and I can seriously tell her anything.
9. I have obsession with purses, bags, and suitcases
10. The only piece of jewelry I ever wear (expect special occasion) is the birthstone my dad got me years, and years ago.... I NEVER take it off.

Remeber how I drove to Memphis to meet Guitar hero at Graceland a few weeks back?

I told Guitar hero that I love Graceland so much that I only see it fitting that we make a trip there once a year... he kinda did not see the point... but I know in my heart that he will make it happen (hint, hint guitar hero)

My birthday and the start of autumn all in one week!!!

All this talk of autumn in the "blog world" is starting

to make me feel inspired ...

for some fall shopping.

Today is my Birthday!!

I turned 24 today... YAY!

So, in honer of turning 24

I am going to make a list of

24 things I want to do before I turn 25.

1. I want to visit another country.

2. I want to find me and guitar hero's dream house

3. I want to become an awesome aunt

4. I want to send in some of my children's stories.

5. I want to take a vacation with my family

6. I want to learn to cook really healthy and yummy food

7. I want to throw a dinner a party to show of my new talents

8. I want to go in a hot air balloon

9. I want to find a really great red coat

10. I want to write more letters

11. I want to write a song with my guitar hero

12. I want to continue to blog on an (almost) daily basis

13. I still want to say and hear I love you everyday to guitar hero

14. I want to learn something new (sign language, self defenses, sewing) just anything new

15. I want to give back to the community... maybe volunteering with animals

16. I want to do more antique shopping

17. I want to carve pumpkins, go find the perfect Christmas tree, bake cookies ALL with my guitar hero this year!!!! (that's right guitar hero you have to do this with me ... even though I know you will)

18. I want to go watch a movie in the park (something they have in Nashville and I am just now learning about it)

19. I want to spend lots more time with my brother and sister this year... I just hate they live in two different states.

20. I want to take daily walks with my guitar hero (because he wants to...)

21. I want to enjoy each day to the fullest.

22. I want to take time and enjoy little things and be more "green"

23. I want to learn to be so non- materialistic (even if this means turning of my cell and computer for a day)

24. I want to enjoy being 24... because I'm only that age once!

Today!!!

Tomorrow is a VERY special day and guitar hero won't be here

to celebrate with me. So, today I get whatever I want!

True Story...

For those of you who have been reading my blog

might have picked up that guitar hero is 28

and has never had a sip of alcohol in his life... that's right not even a little taste.

So, you can imagine all the peer pressure he gets from everyone.

Well, the other night while we were on our way to the Opry

a friend of his who was with us asked...

Guitar Hero's Friend: " If you ever decided to have a drink promise me I will be there to see it"

Me to Guitar's Hero's friend: "If you only knew how many people have asked that... I swear we could have party just for Guitar hero's first drink"

Me to Guitar Hero: "Hey, I was thinking... if we get married what are you going to do when it comes to toasting the bride and groom with champagne "?

Guitar Hero: "Well, I hear there is no better time to start drinking then when after your married"

Me: (silence and shock on my face)

Guitar hero: laughing

Me: evil look (thinking... I will give you something to drink about)

Guitar hero: "I am sorry honey but you asked for that"

Me: still silent and shocked then... " You just wait till I tell mom what you said"

Guitar hero: "You know I was kidding" "I love you"

Me: "I love you too" (thinking again... I will never let you forget this)

So, I just wanted you all to know

he isn't always a sweet, prince charming...

he has his guy moments but I still adore him...

even though I will never let him live down what he said!!!

If I had it my way...

Me and Guitar hero have been looking at houses on top of all this change we have going on.

Not that we don't love our house now we just want something a little bigger.

The only thing is... I'm not a fan of the houses today and the older historic homes are pricey and need lots of work.

Why can't today's style home look like something out of a Thomas Kinkade painting?

I mean seriously... wouldn't EVERYONE want to live in houses this cute?!?!

Change is good.

What a week, what a week!

So, many things going on in mine and guitar hero's life.

I really can't talk about it yet though...

maybe someday

but just not now.

It's just a lot of change... a BIG change.... a GOOD change!

We are happy

and we always have each other

which makes change easier

but we still can't help but to be nervous when going into something

unknown.

It's time like these I wish I had crystal ball so I could see the future!

Hello Friends,

Do you any of you hear a sound and it take you back to a special place or maybe it's a scent? Well, I do... the sound of a train takes me back to when I was a little girl and when I use to stay with my grandparents. They use to have a train track right in front of there house and I am not kidding when I say that their was probably 20 trains that went thru a day. So, this morning when I heard a train I just couldn't help but smile from being reminded of the days when I was little and use to stay with my grandparents... (sigh) such a wonderful sound a train makes.

By the way do you any of you happen to know any great overnight train vacations to take... that is one thing me and guitar hero are searching to do.

I can't seem to get our song out of my head...

P.S. Guitar hero got me a record player while visting his family this week that looks just like the one pictured above! We also, just bought a few new records the other day (including... Louis Armstrong, Elvis, and Judy Garland) I can't wait to see it and to play some music on it! I already know what the first song we are going to listen and dance to is going to be. Sadly, though I have to wait till the first week of Oct. because we are having it worked on but I am still VERY excited!

Things I plan on doing this weekend.

1. Start reading my book for the book club (eat, pray, love)

2. Start putting out my fall decor around the house ( I am so excited that I can't wait any longer)

3. Write letters in my notebook for guitar hero while he is away

4. Play with my sweet kittens

5. Watch some old movies (I'm feeling a Audrey Hepburn marathon coming on)

6. Listen to a little Michael Buble

7. Do some cleaning around the house

8. Take some pictures on my holga and diana camera so I can get all my film developed ( I have film dating back from Feb)

9. Learn some new recipes to cook (me and guitar hero HAVE to stop eating out) do any of you have any good recipes you would like to share?

10. And catch up on some blog reading.

No need to design my dream home... it's already been built... seriously!

This post is so ironic. Lately, me and Guitar hero have been talking about building a dream home (but doesn't everyone). We like talking about the type of things we would want, him: a music studio in the backyard, Me: a huge kitchen with a LOTS of counter space, a real fireplace, a claw foot bathtub... yeah my list goes on. But, yesterday while we were at dinner I was telling him about my dream home I had designed when I was back in middle school and how it had an open space in the middle of the house where I would put a stone waterfall pool... and no kidding I was surfing the Internet today and found the house I had designed years ago. Can you believe it? I still have my floor plan for the house I designed... I am going to have to scan just to show you this person has seriously built my dream home.

last night.

Last night guitar hero had another night playing at the Grand Ole Opry (we counted...last night made for his 16th time playing there) and while we were there he took me in his arms and started slow dancing with me. I can't tell you who was singing, or what song was playing but it was very romantic and such a wonderful story to tell our children that me and their father (the man I adore) shared a slow dance backstage at the Grand Ole Opry.

The other day this sweet girl, Jane sent me the most beautiful quote, that my heart literally skipped at beat. Thank you so much Jane for sharing this lovely quote with us. It will go down in my book of favorites.

looky, looky at what I found...

Yes, another picture of a forehead kiss... this time it's Elvis and Priscilla. I seriously can't get enough of forehead kisses? What is you favorite type of kiss? Is it forehead like me? Maybe on the cheek, neck, or on the hand like they use to do back in the day? Do you all remember the first time you were kissed? I do, I was about 6 years old and one of the neighborhood boys was playing over at my house when he told me to hide in the bathroom for a game we were playing, then all a sudden he came in turned off the light and kissed me and then ran back out. It was a sweet first kiss but nobody kisses have ever been better than guitar hero's... including his sincere forehead kisses that literally make me weak in the knees.

Bibbidi-bobbidi-boo, Chim Chim Cheree... it's a pirates life for me... la, la under the sea!

I am getting so excited! Tomorrow I am heading to Graceland to see my wonderful guitar hero and Elvis. But for tonight I need to get some sleep... which I don't see happening anytime soon so, what to? what to do... I got it! Watch Disney movies... those always make me happy. I love Disney movies. Don't you? What is your favorite Disney movie?

Today is the day me and my wonderful guitar hero start writing to each other everyday he is away.

I started to realize that we do not have many pictures, or stories of us together to share to our children/grandchildren being that is his gone so much. So, to make up for that we have decided to write to each other everday he is on the road (do you like how I said "we" when you know I meant "I" ... but he kindly agreed to do it with me... so I can say we)

This way when we are old we can look back at them with our children/grandchildren and remember how hard it was being away from each other but how our love still grew everyday we were apart.

Confession...

I am a HUGE Elvis fan! I mean HUGE... like really HUGE! I even own most of his movies on DVD. So, you know I am excited to say that I get to go to Graceland Monday but not only that I am getting to go watch guitar hero play. Two of my favorite men (even if one is only in spirit) in one city... life is good!

I am curious what is your favorite Elvis song? Or do you have a favorite Elvis movie?

It's that time again.

It's that time again to pick our book for the book club. It's been so fun to read these books with you guys. I have a had a few recommendations all ready but I am going to be fair and let everyone have a say in it. So, if you have a book that you want us to read let me know. I will decided tomorrow which book we will be reading for the month of September.
