Happy 50th Birthday Dad!

This weekend was wonderful.
My parents and their friends came in for my dad's 50th Birthday.
It was so great to see my parents.
We ended up having a great weekend.
We ate at the best restaurants... my mouth is still drooling.
(Mad Donna's, Pancake Pantry, and Tin Angel.. some of the restaurants)
followed by many laughs and looking back at old memories.
the only thing missing was Guitar Hero.

Is it bad that my parents left just hours ago
and I am already missing them like crazy?
I hate living so far away.
there is nothing more important to me then being with family.

anyways...

Happy Birthday Dad!
I love you SO much!

I miss this little "ROCKSTAR"!

Isn't my little nephew the cutest little thing you have ever laid eyes on?!
I love the 2nd picture.. as my sis puts it..he was thinking "enough with the kisses already mom"
and the first picture is his Elvis impersonation
(and we all know how much I LOVE Elvis.. so, that is beyond awesome!)

Ugh, I hate that they live so far away.
Don't you all agree she should move closer...

So, everyone be sure to tune in on Wednesday night's on bravo to check him out.

What do I do when I'm not with guitar hero?

Yesterday, I got a comment from a reader about what I do when guitar hero is away.
I never thought about me not posting those days.
I guess to be honest I don't find my days too exciting to post about when he is gone
but for this reader I will be happy to share..

My days without guitar hero are usually spent..
working part time in retail,
shopping {mostly for our house}
cleaning {our kittens are messy, seriously}
texting {you will always see me on my phone when guitar hero is away}
watching old movies {Doris Day and Rock Hudson films, old musicals, Sandra Dee type movies}
Playing with makeup {like above.. it's my sophia loren look}
Reading blogs,
decorating our home {which I am almost done with.. finally! Next onto the yard work this summer}
and hanging with a few girlfriends that I have.

So, there you have it. My day's without guitar hero in a nutshell.
Hope that wasn't too boring of a post.

Love ya, all!

Got my 6th flat tire (2nd since I've lived in Nashville) Mom said, "look at the bright side, at least it's happening yearly instead of monthly now".

That was pretty much my day yesterday in a nutshell.
At least I can still find beauty in some things..
such as the way the sunsets in our bedroom.

Valentine's 10'

How was everyone's Valentine's?
Mine was ok,.. I spent in bed eating junk food and watching romantic movies.
(Guitar Hero is on the road)

But before he left we got some time together just cuddling and kissing.
I also, made him a book about our year
(yes, our year begins in feb lol... we started dating in feb thats why)

and above are just a few of the pages that are in it.
I had a lot of guessing games for him
such as the first gift I ever bought him?
What was the first movie we ever watched together.. things like that.
It also, had little notes stuffed in that he has written me,
directions to shows I went to met him at,
and other special things.

It turned out to be a very lovely gift for us both to keep forever.

2 words for you... letterman, tonight!

Ok, I know it was a little confusing but they have everything worked out.
Guitar Hero will be airing tonight on the Letterman show with Josh Turner.
Thanks for everyone who was going to watch and I hope you all still get the chance to watch tonight.

As, for the picture above that is guitar hero when he was on set monday night... isn't that a awesome picture?! I am sorry to report that he didn't get a picture with Sandra Bullock though. In fact... he never even got to see her. O, well.. at least I got a picture of the most important person on the show... my guitar hero *sigh*

* o, yeah and did I mention
that I get the show with him in the comfort of our own bed.
I guess everything works out for a reason.

ONE YEAR DOWN!

Today marks my one year in the blogging world.
I am so thankful I entered this "blog world"
where mustaches are cool,
cupcakes are a must,
bangs are the "it" hairstyle,
poloraid, diana, and holga pictures are the best
and love is praised

NOW ON TO THE NEXT YEAR!

P.S. Guitar Hero won't be on Letterman till later this week (they think wed) due to some odd issues (who knows in the t.v. world) But I will keep you posted. At least he had a BLAST while filming there today : )

something missing.

Do you ever feel like your'e missing something in your life? Lately, I have and yesterday it hit me like a brick. While watching the movie Family Stone last night {a movie I watch at least twice a month} I realized how badly I want a family. For most girls, family is something you dream of from your very first doll; you - referring to yourself as the dolls mother. I on the other hand was not a fan of calling myself "mom" with my dolls or for that matter playing house with the neighborhood girls and if I ever did get talked into playing house I was always the aunt.

So, you can imagine the complete shock this has taken on me and those closest to me.... especially, Guitar Hero. I don't know really what has brought on the change but I know that there are some things that have made the idea of wanting children a little sweeter. Mainly, the fact that I am so close to my parents and now having them live far away instead of right down the street makes it hard. Also, having guitar hero away more then he is home doesn't help. Being alone all the time is not really my thing. I enjoy game nights, and baking festive cookies for the holidays, taking bike rides, as well has having movie nights, and building tents with sheets in your living room. So, why wouldn't I want children?... maybeI should have re-thought this idea a long time ago.

See, most might take cooking dinner for someone every night for granted, or having someone to sit in a room with while watching a re-run of Friends, or just having someone to talk to in person when you don't want to leave the house on your off day but for me I don't get those things very often. I hardly ever get to cook a dinner {it's just not the same by yourself} or have anyone to laugh with why watching my favorite t.v. shows and sometimes I can go days without talking out loud if I stay home and don't get the chance to talk to guitar hero on the phone. But if I have a family those things could and would change. Right?!

Now, I am not saying it would be easy and all my problems would be fixed in the very beginning but it's a start to say I am thinking of the idea. Not to mention, I like the idea of thinking that my family could be like the Family Stone. You, know the family where the mother is a little quirky and all the children look up to her. Where the dad solves all the problems and is kind of the peace maker of the family ( guitar hero would totally be this dad!). Where the children are all different and unique in their own ways and are encouraged to be their own person. Plus, I just love the idea of the "big" family. I know, crazy right?!.. for someone 10 minutes ago who didn't want children at all... but I do now. I want that big family who does everything together and who has someone who always will take their side. And with guitar hero being away so often I think it would be nice if there was always something going on and there were lots of us in the house to keep each other company.. granted this would take a few years, being that they would have to get out of their "baby stage" but in the end I think it would be worth it.
Plus, those family holidays when everyone would come home to be together just sounds so lovely to me.

I know, I know - I am totally crazy and I am sure a lot of you are wondering what the heck I am thinking, as am I. But, I can't help it.

Kitten bedtime stories!

While one kitten likes hiding under the covers
(mostly, when I am trying to make the bed)
the other...
Prefers making good use out of our plastic bags
by recycling them into his bed.

Play day on a Snow day.

Guitar Hero got a little excited when I gave him the camera
he would not stop snapping pictures.

(the 2 pictures above look like one of those match up games
isn't that funny)
