Barefoot in the park... o, yeah and there was a picnic involved too!

Nothing like spending a nice lunch date outside.
I bet you can never guess where we went for our lovely picnic... the Parthenon!
What can I say... it's are favorite place EVER.

By the way, thank you for all your sweet encouragements on trying
to do the cupcake recipe again AND for sharing your horror stories when it
came to baking.
I am going to try to attempt to bake them again later this week,
but for now, I am really just thankful for my betty crocker cupcake mix.
It really came to rescue when I was is need.

I also, would like to thank Guitar hero's mom
for our wonderful picnic basket.
It will, without a doubt, be getting lot's of use out of from this day forward!

WARNING! NEVER FORGET TO BUTTER YOUR CUPCAKES!

I had this amazing recipe (at least it sounds amazing)
for honey-lemon cupcakes.
I thought it might be a nice little treat to make,
since me and guitar hero are going picnicking tomorrow
but silly ole me forgot to put the butter in the mix.
It wasn't till after my cupcakes were already in the oven,
that I realized I had left my melted butter in the microwave.

UGH! I was so upset with myself...
Looks like I am going to have to call Betty Crocker to the rescue.

It's nothing a little Mickey D's and a coke can't fix...

Last night did not go as planned... at all! I guess you can say I can get really moody when I don't get my way... because last night I was not a pleasure to be around. Yes, my diva Princess side came out for sure!

Me and the Guitar Hero had planned for a nice evening by the lake to watch the sunset. Which means we had to drive to 30 to 40 minutes to the over side of the lake (we live on the sunrise side) and when we got there we realized there is no way to get to the lake. Can you believe it? I was so disappointed. Which you can image lead to my very moody spell. Which, is where the McDonald's come in...

Guitar Hero knows when I get in these moods to just give me my space for a little bit. So, once I got my food I went to the bedroom, I put on my show dancing with the stars and within the hour I was much more lovely to be around and he was safe to join me for bedtime (well my bedtime at least). Did I ever mention how much I love bedtime? I do! When the Guitar Hero is home we usually make it to the bedroom around 9:30 or 10 and he tickles my back till I fall asleep and in return I let him watch family guy. O, the compromise's you make in relationships.

Sometimes I sing in man voices when we ride with windows down. Guitar Hero secretly loves it..

the simple things that bring me joy when guitar hero is home...

Having him to take walks with (so I can capture pictures like above)
Having him to eat meals with
Having him to actually carry face to face conversations with (I can talk to the our cats all day long but it gets kind of boring when they don't communicate back)

I would have to say those 3 things mean a lot to me...

...and in our relationship it really is the little things that mean the most to us...
because it is so rare for us to do those 3 simple things listed above.

Dearest Diary,

Well, this weekend was a success. I enjoyed a little time working in the yard, although my legs would beg the differ. I also, did a little cleaning in the house (our floors were getting pretty bad) and of course how could I forget about Guitar Hero coming home... it was the highlight of my weekend.

We enjoyed a nice dinner together with lots of conversation. Laughing at our cats, who have to be the most hilarious little creatures there ever were. Followed by a nice relaxing movie on the couch. Which by the way Guitar Hero was very impressed with my movie choice... and not to toot my own horn, but I was too. Overall, the weekend was wonderful and I can't wait to enjoy some more time with my Guitar Hero.

yours truly,
his princess

note to self: buy some popsicles while at the store today.

Doesn't spring just make you happy?
These flowers started blooming in our yard and they got me all excited.

Now, let me tell you..
I don't know the first thing about gardening or working in the yard
but I am determined to learn this year.
After all, what else am I going to do while guitar hero is on tour this summer?

unfortunately though, when guitar hero bought this house
(two years before he met me)
he was sold by the garden.
Now, don't get me wrong a nice yard is great
but the women who was living here before must have been retired and
working in her garden EVERYDAY.
So, seriously I don't know what he was thinking
being that he is usually gone ALL summer!
I mean it's not like he had another girl before me that would have taken care of it.
So, now before I can fully enjoy learning how to garden
I have to learn how to clean up a HUGE mess!
(last year we had a buddy clean up half of the GIGANTIC mess which now brings it to a HUGE mess)
I will have to take pictures to show you
but they will be ugly and I don't really like ugly pictures.

Anyhow, do any of you out there know anything about gardening?
or maybe have any tips you would like to share?
I would be much appreciative.

...

and thank you in advance!

and just like that I wasn't playing house anymore, it was my real life.

Did you ever wake up one morning
and wonder when did I grow up?

This happens to me very often and it happened again yesterday...
While buying a spring wreath for our front door
I began to wonder when I became this women who bought wreaths for her house,
who starts fusing if you leave your dirty dishes laying out, who makes honey-do list for guitar hero when he gets home... and then nags at him till he get's it done, who is planning meals in her head when I go to the grocery store instead of just buying junk food, seriously... when did I grow up?

I never thought I would be the women I am today... at all. In fact, if you would have told me this
2 years ago I would have laughed in your face. Because, all those things I just mentioned above I kind of enjoy (well expect for the fusing and nagging) but I like buying wreaths for the front door, and planning meals, I enjoy doing laundry (expect for putting the clothes away), and I am really excited about learning how to garden this summer. Now, don't get me wrong being grown up does have it's down sides.. bills, bills, bills,
o, yeah and car breaking down (can't forget that one)
but really all those times I saw my mother cleaning, cooking meals, and working outside in the yard I use to think I don't want to grow up and be like that. I don't want to have to spend my "fun" money on decor for the house and cleaning supplies. But to be honest I feel accomplished for all the things I do in a day for our house and for my guitar hero. That's the joy of being a women... you feel needed by your man. Just like you need your man to open those jars, reach for high things, and to kill those gross bugs... right ladies? I guess my point is, being a grown up isn't so bad.

Just another way to bring us closer..

Do you all remember this cute couple
or even more, the beautiful young lady in the picture?
If not look here and here.
She is also, the mother to this little baby boy here and here.

Some of you might know her as my sissy.
To be really honest with you though, she is a childhood friend
but I consider her my sister and most people just think we are.

But, this is all beside the point right now
right now, I am sharing with you her blog...
thats right, my sissy started a blog and I am so excited!
It's just another way I can keep up with her and the family
since she is so far away.

But I want you to know...
She is amazing writer, the most creative person you will ever know,
and will always make you laugh.
Trust me, you are going to want to keep up with her blog.

So, everyone please just go over and say hi to her
and make her feel welcomed to the "blog world".

Thanks, and I love you guys!!!
I don't think I say enough but I am going to start!

On rainy days...

... there is nothing like opening a window
and listening to the raindrops fall, while playing a board game with your love.

What do you all like to do on a rainy day?

P.S. The kittens were so fascinated in our game. You can't tell here, but Spaz really wanted to play with us...

P.P.S. Look at guitar hero's fingers... don't that natural bend in the coolest ways.

just another walk in the park.

The other day, me and Guitar Hero took in a nice day stroll around one of our local parks.
The weather was so lovely, the conversations were great, and the company was... well, perfect.
I am so glad spring is finally here and we can get out and enjoy the city.
Life is Bliss... don't you agree?

I know your thinking "what park" but it's there.. I just didn't get any pictures of it.

and I wore them with class

SO, I just wanted everyone to know I wore my new pumps out this weekend.
Guitar Hero took me to a
VERY romantic dinner (which I will tell you more about later)
but I just wanted to share with you all my outfit for now.

P.S. Our weekend was filled with lots more wonderful events,
guitar hero shows, listening to the rain drops fall, playing board games,
making recipes from scratch, and much, much more that I will share with you later.

Hope you all a wonderful weekend!

Our Nashville Playground. Things to see... Parthenon.

When your ever in Nashville
I recommend you seeing the Parthenon.
It's obvious me and Guitar Hero love this place... being that I mention it so often,
but I am pretty sure you will love it too.

I mean really, were else are you going to find Greece In america?
The parthenon is located at Centennial Park on the west end of Nashville.
It was built for a fair they had here back in the late 1800's
(do these people know how to do it big or what?)
It's a great to do for both winter and summer
They have a museum inside filled with lots of fun facts and an art gallery.
I prefer the summer months though.
You will likely catch me and Guitar hero there then...
either walking, taking pictures, or laid out on a blanket reading, listening to music, or picnicking.

... Like a said parthenon is a must in this city!

I'm really happy...

Lately, I have been really happy.
I don't know what it is..
maybe, the fact that spring is around the corner,
or the fact that I am getting to know myself better..
but whatever it is I love it and I hope it last forever!

P.S. Did everyone wear their green today.. I did!!!!

I am super excited about my new pumps I bought.
I got them from off broadway..
and I can't wait to I can wear them. (friday I hope you come fast)

They make me feel super sexy, like I can rule the world in them
or at least any bar I walk into.
Haha, just teasing.. or am I.

The weekend is almost here!
So, excited to be spending it with Guitar hero!!!

By the way...
you all have all weekend to ask me any question you want... or guitar hero.
I (and guitar hero) will be answering them Monday.
So, far I have gotten some good questions
and I look forward to answering them.

Other then that I hope you all have a wonderful weekend with lots of sun!

YAY.. for warm weather!

I love this warm weather we are having.
Me and Guitar Hero already have so much planned to make the most of it.
like spending time at one of our favorite places...
the Parthenon

P.S. Don't forget to ask your questions for me and guitar hero.
remember you can ask anything you want and we will answer it on Monday.

Peek-A-Boo and a little something else...

The other day while I was walking with my camera
I stopped to take a picture of this tree
and while I have photographing it I heard a knocking come from inside.
It frightened me at first
but then me and Guitar Hero thought it sounded like woodpecker
however, when I started to whistle...
it was squirrel that popped out.

Now, I see squirrels all the time
but this one was extra special for reasons I can't explain.
We stood there for awhile so that I could take about 100 of the same pictures
and she sat patiently while I did
never taking her eyes of us
Yes, I am assuming it was girl
I would like to picture her waiting at her house hole
for her hubby squirrel to come back
cracking shell nuts from inside for dinner
and telling him about
me and guitar hero who stopped by their house
for a bit.
Kinda, like I am telling you all about her now.
Sorry, sometimes I dream too much
about the silliest stuff.

... but in other news I had a reader asking if
I could do a questions and answers post
So, if you have anything you would like to ask
just do so below in this post.
I will be taking questions till this sunday
and come Monday I will post my answers.
The questions can be anything you want.

Our Nashville playground. Restaurants... 417 Union Street.

If your ever in Nashville
and looking for a cute little local place to dine.
This is it.
417 Union street is downtown exactly where it's name say's it is.

This was one of the first places I ever ate in Nashville
and I love returning to it often.
I may have only been for breakfast here
but I am sure the rest of the meals are just as good.

There is just something about the atmosphere in this place that I enjoy.
the exposed brick, old pictures hanging on the wall from 1940's to 1950's,
Frank Sintra type music playing in the background, and cute cozy booths
that just make you feel as if you stepped back in time.

but on a little side note...
this place can get busy on a weekend morning
so if your in town durning a week day and you really want
to take in the charm of this cute little restaurant
I would recommend dinning here on a week day.
