The things we do for love...part 3...

Not only am I willing to climb heights and wear my body out
for this man I love (aka guitar hero)
I'm willing to ruin one of my favorite night shirts and get a little dirty

p.s. I'm finally done painting... yay!

Once I have fully decorated the living room I will post pictures.

The things we do for love... part 2...

Not only am I painting by myself while guitar hero is on the road...
I'm climbing a ladder so I can reach the vaulted ceilings.
I am on 5'3 on a good day (like when I wear heels)
so you can imagine how far up the ladder I have to go to reach.
...and did i mention I am afraid of heights?!
well I am.
I just have to keep telling myself it will be worth it in the end!

The things we do for love...

So, while guitar hero is on the road
I have been painting the living room.
And let me just tell you its hard! My body
is so sore today. I feel like my arms and legs
are going to fall off. All I want to do today
is lay in bed and look like the little animal
pictured above....

(sigh) The things we do for love....

I will be posting pictures of the before and after so soon... so stay tuned.

The pros and cons to dating a REAL LIFE Guitar Hero...

Sure it may seem glamorous but trust me
there are down sides to it...
... but first we will start out with the Pros
  • being serenaded by the guitar is amazing
  • being able to go home with him after watching girls scream over him
  • hearing a song I like and him being able to learn it for me
  • being able to visit him on the road and see new towns (aka lots of traveling)
  • being able to go backstage a the Grand Ole Opry and watch him play
  • having him all winter (probably my favorite part about it)
  • free guitar lessons
  • never a dull moment
  • being gone a lot he likes to make it up by doing fun things when he is home

There is probably more pros I'm leaving out but you get the idea

Now for the cons...

  • Him being on the road a lot
  • Not being able to make long term plans... like vacations
  • A lot of our time is spent over the phone
  • when he is home he is still working (fixing guitars, learning new songs)
  • being tired when he is off the road
  • last minute concerts he has to leave for
  • adjusting back to normal sleep schedule
  • and not being able to kiss every night before bed
Now you have a little insight why I love it when he is home and sad when he is gone.
But as much as I may whine about him being gone I couldn't be more happy for him and what he does. He loves his job and I love it too. I mean if he wasn't a guitar hero we would have never met .... now that's a scary thought.

P.S. go pick up this CD and while your at if you have not picked up this CD
you should buy it too... because Guitar hero co- wrote this song

The difference between men and women...or at least Guitar hero and me.

The other day while me and a Guitar hero were at the zoo...
we stopped to look at the cute little chickens
in the farm section.
While we were looking we both had a thought...
except are thoughts were completely different.

Me: "aww... how cute.
I want some pet chickens to run around the house".

Guitar hero: Yum...." I'm getting hungry.
Can we go get some chicken to eat"?

WHAT!!!

Seriously, I mean I not a vegetarian or anything like that
(and I do love chicken) but how
can you look at that cute little thing and think food?

ugh, well he got his way....
we had chicken for lunch.... and I must say it was good.

Weekend.

Hope everyone has a great weekend.
I'm going to do a little reading (since I have all these books I buy and never touch)
and maybe after guitar hero cleans up his mess (guitar stuff)
I can get started on painting this week.

We think we were both born in the wrong era...

Me and Guitar hero went to look for antiques today...
and even though we didn't buy anything to take home
we did find lots of stuff we wouldn't mind owning.
Such as these old records (pictured above)
We love listening to music...
let me rephrase that... we love listening to oldies
like Elvis, Sinatra, and the Beatles
and the best way to do that is with old records (which we have a lot of)
but sadly we are on the hunt for a record player and have not been having any luck.
On the other hand I always seem to find these old cash registers
which I love would love to own but have no use for.
I think I love them because my dad talks about playing as a child
on one just like this at his grandfathers store...
and plus they are just really cool
Maybe, if I talked guitar hero into opening up some kind of shop with me
we could buy one.
hmmm... i like that idea... something to think about.
But the best part of our antiquing adventure today
was these old statues of some sort.
Seriously, who would buy these and what for?
I didn't even bother asking the price on them
because even if I could afford them (which I highly doubt)
where would I put it? what would I do with it? how would I get it home?
Geez... some of the weird things people sell and buy.

Until next time I guess we are still on the hunt for these things...

  • record player
  • rustic coffee table
  • old farm wood dining room table
  • Victorian couch (so we can do this)
  • typewriter
  • vintage suitcases
  • and old hardback books

Into the wild...

Me and Guitar hero went to the zoo and...
I just fell in love with the meerkats.. and begged guitar hero to let me take one home
sadly my begging did not work....
but neither did his... he wanted a snake... sorry but NO!!!

I also, wanted to get closer to the giraffes... and I thought this disguise might work
...but I think my neck was a little to short because it also didn't work.
So we went with another disguise method (shown in the picture below)
...once again we failed.

O, well a least we had fun and can't wait to do it again.

Happy Earth Day!

Me and Guitar hero celebrated by playing in the bamboo...
what do you do on this wonderful day?

What's for lunch?

Since Guitar hero is off all week
I have been trying to spend as much time with him as possible
(hence why I didn't blog yesterday...sorry)
because starting next week summer tours are really going to kick off
and he will be on the road more then he his home...

So, we are trying to think of some fun things to do before he leaves.
we are thinking...
the zoo, maybe the antique fair, movies, fancy restaurants,
and of course working on the house.

But today I'm thinking we will go on a picnic.
There is a beautiful park beside the lake and this place (which you know we love)
that would be perfect to have a picnic at.

I have made some cold pasta salad this week that I think would be perfect to pack....
But what else should I could I take on our picnic?
What would you pack if you were going on a picnic?
I would love to hear your thoughts on this.

To: Guitar Hero,

I am ALWAYS thinking of you!
...hope your not missing me too bad while your on the road
but at least you get to see me today... even if it's not in person.
Mauh!

The weekend is here..

and guitar hero is on the road.
What to do... what to do...
Looks like im heading downtown
to watch my roommate and his band play.
Nothing beats downtown Nashville on a weekend...
live music, lots of tourist, good friends, and a whole lot of fun to be had.
Hope everyone has a wonderful weekend!

Bring on the sleepless nights..

Guitar Hero is leaving... again

light the candles,
make some chocolate covered strawberry's
put on a little Frank Sinatra,
and wait for him to come home.

You look like Zooey Deschanel..

While me and Guitar hero were out for lunch the other day

some girl told me I looked like Zooey Deschanel.

I was so flattered but I knew it was only because of my bangs

but hey I still liked hearing it.

P.S. I'm loving this new commercial of hers

P.P.S The outfit she is wearing while looking at the records is fabulous!

I have road rage!

It's true!
I have very bad road rage...
and while driving to the city today I felt like pulling my hair out.
and just before I started screaming and yelling at the truck in front of me
I heard something...

It was Guitar hero's song on the radio!
and in that moment I went from raging mad to giddy and calm.
see not only is Guitar hero an amazing guitar player
he also co-wrote a very famous country song!
and I'm so glad he did because his song always seems to come on at the perfect time.
Rather its when I feel like honking my horn, or I'm missing him madly because he is on the road.
I can always have a piece of him with me when I turn on the radio to keep me smiling.
So, thank you radio stations for playing his song!

My mind is running free...

I'm feeling so crafty right now.
Love these moments.

P.S. Thanks everyone for your input...
Guitar hero is keeping the beard :)

beard or no beard that is the question...

Me and Guitar hero have been fighting over the beard
He wants to shave it and I want him to keep it
What do you guys think?

Happy Easter...

...from the Guitar hero and Me...
Guitar Hero finally got home today
after being on the road all week.
We spent the day with some friends,
found a wonderful Church that we are excited to start attending,
then we came home and made a pizza from scratch
then we put in a movie and cuddle up.
I'm so thankful to have him home again!
What did you do for Easter?

I'm going to visit my family this week.
Not sure when I will get computer access
so I hope everyone has wonderful week, and a great Easter.
If I get a chance to blog I promise I will.
(not sure where I found image)

Right in our backyard...

...well not really in our back yard.
Me and Guitar hero went for a lil Sunday drive yesterday
and we discovered these beautiful historic homes right across the street...

..and amazingly most of them for sale!

This one (above) was my favorite!

... O and did a mention they all look over the lake...

it's amazing what you can find if you just take a drive.
We now found the perfect walking place...
if only I can convince Guitar Hero to get me a puppy to take on our walks.

Living our love song...

One year ago today...
I met my guitar hero!

We met in a music video...
He was playing guitar and I was extra in a bar scene.
I couldn't stop staring at him he was so good looking
(plus he was a musician... every girls dream... right?!)
I had a boyfriend at the time & he was trying to work things out with his ex
but we couldn't help the sparks that were there!
The whole day we smiled & made eye contact with each other
and to make a long story story short
I left my boyfriend of 3 years, moved to Nashville (was living in KY),
he stopped trying to fix things with the ex, and we have been happy together ever since!

I have never felt this way about anyone in my life!!!
How did you and your love meet?

Hey, that was my idea!

OK, so I totally had this Idea...

I wanted to take an old antique couch and have it recovered
in the England Flag.
Anyways, I love this couch and it would be perfect
in Guitar Hero's studio.
Add a couple of Beatles painting's behind it
(since the Beatles inspire him so much)
and he would have a rockin studio!

Whitneyizm # 1

Defention of Whitneyizm

Whitneyizm - a blonde (aka whitneyizm) moment.

I have so many blonde "whitneyizm" moments and being that I am not a blonde my roommate and boyfriend (guitar hero) decided to call them whitneyizms

Me: (to guitar hero) "Pick me up and spin me"

Guitar hero: (picks me up and spins me and almost drops me on the hardwood floor head first)

Me: sat down catching my breath in fear and said.. " my life just flashed between my eyes"

Guitar hero: (takes moment to think about what I said then laughs knowing I just had another whitneyizm moment... and contiunes to remind me of my life between my eyes)

lovin' me some friendly company

Being new to Nashville aka Nashvegas
I don't get a lot of girl time
so I loved it that my girlfriend Nicole
came to visit me
so we did what any young, fun, non single girls would do if in Downtown Nashville...
We got dolled up, We listened to live music, We danced all night,
We bowled, We made new friends, We laughed,
We talked about old times and new times,
but most of all we just enjoyed our girl time that we hardly get anymore.
