Traditions.

For about as long as I can remember, I have had the tradition of putting up the Christmas
tree every thanksgiving night. And I am grateful that Guitar Hero makes sure that
this tradition stays a tradition. No matter how tired we are from stuffing our faces all day.
Thank you my sweet, sweet guitar hero!

Encores first walk.

This was taken about a week and a half ago.
It amazes me how much he has already grown in such a short period of time.

A warm Thanksgiving.

Thanksgiving this year was spent at my Aunt's in Downtown Nashville. My Nana came in with her Husband Steve and Guitar Hero thankfully had no gigs to play. We had a wonderful time cooking together and sharing stories. I was also pleased with how the Turkey came out, since I was the one in charge of it for the first time in my life (well, with lots of help, from my aunt that is) I will have the recipe for that coming soon.

Also it was a very warm day for Nashville so we took full advantage of it by eating outside. Which is a memory itself that will last forever. Since not even 24hrs later the temperature dropped to freezing. And of course the best part of the holiday, was probably intruding Encore to the family and seeing everyone gush over him. I am a very proud momma!

Hallway dance parties, with Encore.

Over the holiday break we have been doing
LOTS of decorating around the house (which I will show more later)
and as you can see it gave off amazing spot lights
for me and Encore to put on a dance show for guitar hero.

We sure did.
I am so VERY thankful for this holiday.
I love any day that brings family and friends together.

star struck

While most of the time I can say I don't get very star struck when I see or meet famous people, that was not the case today. Most of you would think one of the country stars in this town would have me all giddy and dazed but no... leave it to a Rockette to leave me feeling like a nerd.

What can I say... it brought me back to being a little girl and watching all those pretty Rockettes on t.v. for the thanksgiving day parade. So, meeting one in person two days before thanksgiving was probably the coolest and most exciting encounter I have had in Nashville.

and to make myself sound more cheesy and nerdy, I was actually too afraid to talk her. I had to have a friend do it.

One week ago today...

This little bundle of joy, joined our family. And I can't deny he has already captured the hearts of everyone he meets. Including those who thought loving a dog wasn't even possible. Yes, I am talking about Guitar Hero. But he is still a puppy, and you know what that means... Learning on both ends. Yes, that means Guitar Hero and I are learning just as he is.

For starters we are having to learn to put our shoes away and this does not mean just move them up on a chair or couch... it's only seconds before he gets them again, that potty breaks for a puppy come a more often then you can imagine, that locking him in the cage when we leave isn't a bad thing, it's a learning thing, and when letting him do something, like sleeping on couch makes him believe that he can do this whenever he likes.

He on the other hand has much more to learn. Like... how the chew toys are for helping his teething and not mommy's shoes or for that matter her hands and feet, that after he goes potty he should maybe step forward instead of back into his pee, how running in front of me when I am on the go might not always mean I see him till the aftermath of him getting knocked over, how the cats may be his size but doesn't mean that they want to be play buddies, and of course how the sounds coming from dads room (meaning guitar sounds) is not a bad or scary thing.

But when it's all said and done, I see this being a great addition to our family and I look forward to many, many years of all the memories we are going to share with our baby, Encore.

It's beginning to look at lot like Christmas, EVERYWHERE you go....

Now, I know Thanksgiving is not even here yet (it almost is) but I just can't help but be SO excited for Christmas. I mean REALLY excited. To the point my radio station in my car is already set on Christmas music, I have already finished my Christmas shopping AND wrapped all the gifts, I have two tiny Christmas trees up in the house (no big one till after Thanksgiving) and maybe just maybe Guitar Hero has even walked in on me watching a Christmas movie a time or two or maybe 8 (cough, cough). I just can't help myself sometimes though. The holidays make me so happy so how could I not want to celebrate is as long as possible?! Now, if this warm weather will just turn chilly I might be a tad more excited.

The NO couch rule!!!!

So, before our little Encore joined the family, me and Guitar hero had a serious sit down talk about the rules we are going to make for the new addition. No people food, no getting in the bed, no getting on the couch, nothing that would make it harder for us down the road. Well, as you can see from the evidence above, the couch rule lasted a total of maybe 24hrs. We are still firm with other rules {at the moment at least} but since we spend most of the time in the living room we wanted him to be close to us in there. Which after walking in on the adorable moment above, I am glad we did.

He may hate me down the road fro this.

On our way to Indiana to pick up are cute little pup, Encore, we made a pit stop in KY to see my nephew, Conner. Really, I will take any excuse to see him. And I am happy I did, because I got to witness him taking a few steps which was such an honer and every time I took a picture of him and my flash came on this (above) was the face he would give. Then he would start laughing after the picture was finished. I don't know what it was about the flash on my camera that would make him snarl like he did but we could not help but die out laughing every time. Unfortunately, we did arrive past his bed time so he was getting a little cranky and didn't want much to do with me. I tried to smile and be ok about it but deep down it broke my heart... I wish I could see him more.

On the other hand, my sissy made some delicious brownies to send us on our way and we seriously finished them off before we even left her driveway.... no lie. So, thanks sissy.

Meet me at the Loveless cafe.

Over the weekend, my mom and some of her girlfriends came to visit me. Most of the ladies had never been to Nashville so what better way to introduce them, then taking them to a local and tourist favorite.. the loveless cafe, because if you know guitar her and I you know its one of our favorites. If you are ever in Nashville this is a must stop, their biscuits are out of this world!

I just want to thank you ladies for coming out and hanging with me. It is always a treat when my mom comes. Not only does she spoil me and makes sure that Im feed really good during her visits but her presences is always the best. My parents and I are very close and I dream of the day they come move to Nashville, but for now I will take there often visits. I must say that is the highlight living in a tourist town more people rather come visit you then the other way around.

A little update and a few pictures from this weekend.

Now, before I go gushing over Encore, our dog (see post below) with a thousand pictures and updates on our daily adventures, I must share with you some other adventures I had this past weekend. Which included family, babies, old friends and new friends, road trips, and lots and lots of food. So, be sure to look back often.

But before I get into all that, can I just say Encore is the best puppy in the world! Seriously, within one minute he stole my heart and even Guitar Hero's, who wasn't all that excited for the new addition. I can say with total confidence though, that changed when the puppy took an instant likely to him within minutes and kept staring up at Guitar Hero to pick him up (total gushing moment). And then I really new the liking was mutual between them when Guitar Hero gave up driving the last hour back home just so he could sit in the back seat with the puppy. and he NEVER lets me drive. Yup, this dog is seriously already loved like crazy.
